Hiring an English-Speaking Wedding Florist in France: Every Question, Answered

23/09/2026
Tips & advice

Yes — you can plan your wedding flowers in France entirely in English. At Buzzy Bee we design for couples from the UK, the US and beyond, by video call, with or without a wedding planner, anywhere within 250-300 km of Toulouse. Here are the questions we hear most, answered plainly.

Booking a florist in a country you don’t live in, in a language you may not speak, for the most photographed day of your life: we understand the hesitation. This page gathers the real questions our international couples ask — the ones from first emails, first video calls, and sometimes first doubts. If yours isn’t here, tell us your story and ask it directly.

Do you really work in English?

Yes — the whole journey happens in English if you wish: first call, moodboards, quotes, contracts, and every exchange in between. You will never need to negotiate a French email with a translation tool at midnight.

Where it matters most, though, is behind the scenes: your venue, and most French suppliers, work in French. We handle that side in their language — access times, floor plans, delivery logistics — so nothing is lost between what you imagined and what gets installed. You speak to us in English; we speak to the Sud-Ouest in French. That bridge is precisely the job.

We don’t have a wedding planner. Is that a problem?

Not at all — about half of our destination couples come to us without one, as we explain in planning your wedding flowers from abroad.

With a planner, we slot into their process and coordinate alongside them. Without one, we liaise directly with your venue for everything floral: setup windows, table counts, what may be hung or fixed where. You keep a single English-speaking contact for the entire decor, and the flowers simply appear on the day, exactly as designed. Both paths work; choose the one that fits how you like to plan.

How far will you travel?

Our studio sits near Toulouse, and we work within roughly 250 to 300 kilometres — the true Sud-Ouest: Haute-Garonne, Gers, Tarn, Aude, Lot, Ariege and their neighbours. In drive time, that means Albi, Auch or Carcassonne in about an hour, Cahors in an hour and a half, the foothills of the Pyrenees in forty-five minutes.

If you are still shortlisting venues, our florist’s guide to chateau and domaine wedding venues near Toulouse covers the region’s settings — chateaux, domaines, mas and vineyard estates — and what each asks of the flowers.

How does planning work from London, New York or Sydney?

Almost everything happens by video call and shared boards, on your time zone. The rhythm is simple: a first call to hear your story; a design proposal with palette, flowers and scenography; refinements as your plans firm up; then a final call about a month before the day, once your guest numbers settle.

You never need to fly over for the flowers. Most of our couples see their decor for the first time as they walk into their ceremony — and that moment is rather the point. If you do visit the region beforehand, we are always glad to meet over coffee at the studio.

When should we book?

Six to nine months ahead for a high-season date (May to September), earlier if your heart is set on a specific weekend: we take a limited number of weddings each year, so summer Saturdays go first. Late decisions — final guest count, the table plan — only settle 3 to 4 weeks before, and that is entirely normal.

What will it cost?

Honestly: it depends, and any florist quoting a price before hearing your project is guessing. Every design is bespoke, so we’d rather explain the four factors that actually move a floral budget — venue scale, number of tables, floral density and season — which we do openly in what shapes a wedding flower budget in France. Send us your venue, date and rough guest count, and you’ll get a real answer instead of an estimate.

Will the flowers be different from home?

A little, and that is the charm. We design with seasonal flowers from local growers — what the Sud-Ouest offers in your month, not what a catalogue offers year-round. June brings peonies and garden roses; September, dahlias; winter, deep foliage and dried stems. The result belongs to the place and the date — which is, after all, why you chose to marry in France.

Who exactly will we be working with?

With Claire — founder, florist and floral designer, trained in London and based near Toulouse for over ten years — and her studio team. You’ll find her story on our wedding florist in the South of France page, real weddings in the portfolio, and fifty-plus five-star reviews from couples, many of whom planned from abroad. One studio, one point of contact, from first call to last installation. The full range — ceremony, reception, bouquets and installations — is detailed in our wedding services.

Still holding a question? Tell us your story — in English, of course. We answer every message personally.
